Jasper Dong

Hello! My name is Jasper Dong, and I am currently pursuing a M.S. in Statistics at the University of Washington, Seattle. I previously earned my B.S. in Statistics at the University of California, Davis, with a concentration in Statistical Data Science and a minor in Geographic Information Systems.

My interests mostly spans across the broader data analytics and data science field. Recently, I’ve focused on integrating classical statistics with modern AI/ML models, especially in regards to benchmarking and validation. My work has been applied through a variety of domains, including oceanography, supply chain management, education, atmospheric sciences, materials sciences, and much more. I have previously worked under Professor Maike Sonnewald at the UC Davis Department of Computer Science as an undergraduate research assistant as part of the Computational Climate and Oceanography Group, and I have also interned under Dr. Ya Ju Fan at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory under the Data Science Summer Institute and the Computing Directorate.

I will be on the job market after graduating in March 2027 for any roles in data science, analytics, ML/AI engineering, and anything tangently related.
